Tom Hillenbrand’s Animation Summer School 2012 at The Colour Factory

Over the course of five consecutive days, eleven young people aged 8-15 learned various animation techniques encompassing drawn (peg-bar and whiteboard), pixillation (using found objects), cut-out card and 3-D model animation.

 

DAY 1:

The first day concentrated on drawn animation.



DAY 2:

The second day involved pixillation and cut-out animation

DAYS 3-5:

The third day began by writing a short film script, and then storyboarding, following a session by professional storyboard artist Pippa Marks.

Days four and five were spent filming the animations and then creating the soundtracks using Garageband and recording voice-overs.
